With giggling fits comes nap time for one U-K woman. She has a rare disorder called cataplexy, in which feelings of emotion cause a weakening in the muscles. At one particular emotion-packed Christmas party, the woman fell asleep a staggering 24 times. Anti-depressants have improved her condition, but she’s been known to collapse up to 50 times a day. The susceptible slumberer says it “can be easily embarrassing” because even the simplest of jokes can trigger a reaction. After one joke from her five-year-old daughter, the woman was out like a light.
