The first week of the 2010 Fall TV season is behind us. The following are the ratings for the shows that premiered last week (Sept 20-26).

Blue Bloods (CBS) - Fri. 9 p.m.
Viewers: 13.01 million (#1 in time period), A18-49: 2.2/ 7 (#1)

True, the skew is older. But any show that can attract 13 million curiosity seekers on low HUT (houses using televisions) level Friday is an initial "A" performance.
$#*! My Dad Says (CBS) - Thurs. 7:30 p.m.
Viewers: 12.58 million (#1 in time period), A18-49: 4.0/12
Grade: A-
Initial retention out of the season-premiere of lead-in The Big Bang Theory (Viewers: 14.04 million; A18-49: 4.9 rating/16 share) was a very acceptable 90 percent in total viewers and 82 percent among adults 18-49.
Hawaii Five-O (CBS) - Mon. 9 p.m.
Viewers: 14.20 million (#1 in time period), A18-49: 3.9/11 (#1)

Mike & Molly (CBS) - Mon. 8:30 p.m.
Viewers: 12.23 million (#2), A18-49: 3.9/10 (#2)
Grade: B+
Outsourced (NBC) - Thurs. 8:30 p.m.
Viewers: 7.49 million (#3), A18-49: 3.6/10 (#3)
Grade: B+
Initial retention out of the season-premiere of lead-in The Office (Viewers: 8.48 million; A18-49: 4.4/12) was an also compatible 88 percent in total viewers and 82 percent among adults 18-49.
The Defenders (CBS) - Wed. 9 p.m.
Viewers: 12.17 million (#1 in time period), A18-49: 2.9/ 8 (#2)
Grade: B
The retention out of season-premiere of lead-in Criminal Minds (Viewers: 14.13 million; A18-49: 4.0/11) was very respectable at 86 percent in total viewers, but weak among adults 18-49 at 72 percent.
Undercovers (NBC) - Wed. 7 p.m.
Viewers: 8.70 million (#3), A18-49: 2.1/ 6 (#4)
Grade: C+
Comparably, this is only similar to failed year-ago occupant Mercy, and the immediate older skew could be detrimental in the future.
Better With You (ABC) - Wed. 7:30 p.m.
Viewers: 7.86 million (#3), A18-49: 2.5/ 7 (#3)
Grade: C+
The fit out of the season-premiere of The Middle (Viewers: 8.80 million; A18-49: 2.5/ 7) is solid, but higher HUT (homes using televisions) levels at 8:30 p.m. should translate into a stronger performance.
Chase (NBC): Mon. 9 p.m.
Viewers: 7.31 million (#3), A18-49: 2.3/ 6 (#3)
Grade: C
Detroit 1-8-7 (ABC) - Tues. 9- p.m.
Viewers: 9.34 million (#2 in time period), A18-49: 2.3/ 7 (#3)
Grade: C
The retention out of Dancing With the Stars (Viewers: 18.52 million; A18-49: 4.4/11) was only 50 percent in total viewers and 52 percent among adults 18-49. Sticking to creating crime and not fighting it, Michael Imperioli.
Raising Hope (Fox) - Tues. 8 p.m.
Viewers: 7.31 million (#4), A18-49: 3.1/ 8 (#4)
Grade: C
While this may look adequate on paper, the retention out of the season-premiere of Glee (Viewers: 12.45 million; A18-49: 5.6/16) was only 59 percent in total viewers and 55 percent in the demo. Anticipate significant erosion in week two.
Outlaw (NBC) - Fri. 9 p.m.
Viewers: 4.89 million (#3), A18-49: 1.1/ 4 (#3)
Grade: D
Without the necessary lead-in support, Outlaw is destined to become the next Friday casualty.
Running Wilde (Fox) - Tues. 8:30 p.m.
Viewers: 5.59 million (#4), A18-49: 2.4/ 6 (#4)
Grade: F
Dropping from Raising Hope by 1.72 million viewers and 23 percent among adults 18-49 is way too severe.
Lone Star (Fox) - Mon. 8 p.m.
Viewers: 4.10 million (#4), A18-49: 1.3/ 3 (#4)
Grade: F
The Whole Truth (ABC) - Wed. 9 p.m.
Viewers: 4.85 million (#3), A18-49: 1.5/ 4 (#3)
Grade: F
Once NBC's competing Law & Order: Los Angeles steps in next week, these abysmal opening level results will only get worse. Tick, tock - the cancellation clock is ticking.
My Generation (ABC) - Thurs. 7 p.m.
Viewers: 5.17 million (#4), A18-49: 1.6/ 5 (#4t)
Grade: D
If the normal 10 to 20 percent week two erosion kicks-in, the grade will be an F in episode two.
